ABOUT THE
SEMINAR
Medical biotechnology is the application of
biotechnology in medical field either for
diagnostics of a disease precisely at molecular
level or development of newer therapeutics. The
medical biotechnology has grown well significantly
and still it has a wide scope for further expansion
in the years ahead.
Areas of medical biotechnology includes genomics,
proteomics, pharmacogenomics, Immunomics, stem cell
technology, tissue engineering, molecular modelling
and drug designing, etc.
The Department of Biotechnology at Dr.M.G.R.
Educational & Research Institute University is
organizing a one-day seminar on ‘Recent Trends in
Medical Biotechnology’ on 21st July 2012. This
one-day seminar on Medical Biotechnology will
provide a glimpse of recent developments in the
field to upgrade our knowledge on the current trends
and opportunities therein future.

interested to update with the latest developments in

different areas of biotechnology and Biotech

Students who have finished M.Tech,
B.Tech and M.Sc can send an abstract (not
exceeding 250 words) of their project work on or
before 14th July 2012. Abstracts will be
short-listed for making poster presentation on the
day of event. Best two posters will be awarded.
