WORKSHOP OBJECTIVE

Computerized data analysis is an unavoidable part of any research work. With the objective of sharpening the knowledge and skills of current and potential teachers and researchers, the Department of Computer Applications Dr.M.G.R educational and Research Institute and IGNOU - ICAT (Institute of competency and Advancement of Teachers) is organizing a highly intensive programme to improve competencies in research of teachers and others who have aptitude for research. A broad range of topics varying from general methodological issues to more sophisticated research methods will be discussed in the training programme.

The program will: -

1. Introduce the participants to systemize formulation of research designs.

2. Familiarize current techniques in research and enhance their ability to apply them.

3. Enable the participants to differentiate among statistical tools and effectively apply them to a given research problem.

4. Provide the participants with hands-on training in the use of data analysis software.

Programme schedule:

Day 1:

Research Design and Research Process, Sampling Design and Methods of data collection, Research Reporting.

Day 2 :

Practical Session 1 – Introduction to Computerized data analysis ,Descriptive statistics, Data presentation techniques.

Practical Session2 : Pre Analysis processing of data, Comparing means, Parametric tests, one-paired sample test

Practical session 3 : Analysis of Variance—Non parametric tests

Practical Session 4 :Correlation and Regression

The workshop is intended for teachers from university ,Research scholars and PG students who intend to do a research

Registration Fee

Faculty/ Scientist — Rs.1000.

Research Scholars — Rs.750.

Post graduate Students — Rs.500.

The participants can submit the duly filled in registration form along with a Demand Draft (D.D) in favour of “Dr.M.G.R Educational and Research Institute” to the Convener or the scanned copy of the DD and Registration form can be send through mcaworkshops@gmail.com. Advanced registration is essential. Seats will be filled in a first come first serve basis. Number of seats limited to 50.
