INTRODUCTION
The Thai Moogambigai
Dental College and Hospital established in the year 1991 by Tmt
Kannammal Educational Trust was upgraded to the status of
University in 2003. The BDS degree is offered to students who have
completed the five year degree course. The degree is recognised by
the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and The Dental Council of
India, New Delhi.
The University Grants
Commission (UGC) has awarded the Deemed University status under the
name of Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute – Dr. M.G.R.
University U/S 3 of UGC Act. The university is further accredited
with the status of B+ (78.5%) by the National Assessment and
Accreditation Committee (NACC) with effect from Feb 2007.
The main aim of the
course is to provide expertise and knowledge relevant to the dental
structure of the human system and dental practice.
The college is situated
within the city limits, 3 kms from the Koyambedu Bus Terminus.
