Profile 
This is a service department established to impart education in communication skills in English. The Department handles classes for I B.Tech, II B.Tech (I.T), I and II B.Sc Applied Microbiology.
Aim & Objective
The department aims at developing communication skills in students who aspire for a career in engineering and technology with a strong emphasis on the spoken form to enable them to face interviews with confidence.
Vision & Mission
The department aims at establishing research-oriented teaching and training centers. The seed is sown for research activities in the year 2005 with positive future plans.
The Language Laboratory
Language labs have a great role to play in developing communication skills. High-tech multimedia labs have become an essential part of language learning.
The department has been provided with a highly sophisticated language lab. Since the efficacy of the aural and visual media has been proved to be highly beneficial for the students, our lab is equipped with a television set, DVD player, computer systems, headphones and other teaching aids like CDs and cassettes from reputed institutions.
The lab will benefit not only students of I.B.Tech but also other students who wish to appear for competitive examinations such as TOEFL, GRE, IELTS at national and multinational levels and help them develop cross cultural communication skills required for setting up BPOs as job creators.
The lab also facilitates teaching English for specific purposes and helps students to face campus interviews successfully.

Bridge Course
The department conducts Bridge Course for students who are weak in communication skills. This is done prior to the commencement of regular classes at the beginning of the academic year.
Language and Culture Club
hrough this club the department aims at developing the young minds to delve deep into the world of creativity through debates, mock interviews etc. The department is also gearing up to release a magazine periodically.
