  Department of Physics

Profile

The Physics department conducts theory & practicals for I Year B.E / B.Tech students in their I semester & a theory paper in the II semester. The syllabus that is framed for the I year is such that it forms a strong foundation for them to understand the engineering subjects.

(eg) chapters like Lasers & Fibre optics finds their place in the syllabus which is a part of the latest developments in science & technology.
The department takes in delivering its knowledge to the students such that they can know the importance of research, to know about recent research developments & also how to take part in research activities.



Lab Facilities

The practicals that are important for Engineering and Technology are included in the curriculum. The practicals like wavelength determination for lasers & conventional light source, optical fiber – losses & NA, some experiments on properties of matter & ultrasonics are included.
