We are proud to announce admissions 2021 open for a special program - MBA IEV offered by University incubator (AKC). The two-year program has been designed with deep dive skills blended with 60% outside classroom credits and 40% classroom credits to ensure experiential learning, through capstone projects, action learning segments, residency programs at start-up or incubation facility.

The curriculum aims to nurture budding innovators and aspiring student entrepreneurs to convert their ideas to product and services, convert them into viable products & services. The program will help students to validate their idea through a practice venture. The trained faculty, facilitators and internal mentors will nurture the students from basics of entrepreneurship to enterprise through proper channel.

The current program designed by AICTE and Dr MGR Incubator (AKC) to benefit of for both who choose entrepreneurship as a choice and in the prospects of Job (Entrepreneurial though process is a new normal in industrial expectation).

Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Center of Excellence in Innovation and Entrepreneurship (University Incubator) was inaugurated on March 22nd, 2016 by Prof. M.S. Swaminathan, renowned Indian geneticist. Our Vision is to make the Center the best inter-disciplinary Center for Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurial training and be a role model for sustainable growth.

Our Incubator is funded by New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (NewGen IEDC) launched by National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India.

Dr MGR DST NewGen IEDC (AKC) will aim to inculcate the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the young students, encourage and support start-up creation. Students idea will be encouraged to take up as an innovative project with possibility of commercialization through seed grant. There is a good chance of funding opportunity MBA IEV students to establish start-up through the seed grant and the infrastructure of our incubator (Coworking space, Fabrication lab, Biotech lab, Food Tech lab, Innovation Hall and Collaborate Space)

Who can apply ?

A graduate in any discipline of course (10+2+3)/ (10+2+4)/ (10+3+3) with at least 50% Marks. Applicant must have an entrepreneurial mindset, passion for innovation and strong determination to build and run start-up as career.

Incubation Centre MGR - AKC

  • Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Center of Excellence in Innovation and Entrepreneurship is the Incubation Center of the Institute. The Center is funded under the DST New Generation Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (Dr. MGR DST NewGen IEDC), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India.
  • Faculty of the Incubator are trained in Entrepreneurship Education and have rich experience in mentoring students in converting their ideas into a prototype and Business Plan. From 2017, 45 students team have been funded. Seven have been converted into a start-up. Three patents have been published by Incubatees.
