We are glad to inform that our Deemed to be University has been given special STATUS AND SIGNIFICANT AUTONOMY, byMHRD & UGC Govt. of India.This was announced in the Parliament by theHon’ble Minister for Human Resource DevelopmentSHRI. PRAKASH JAVADEKAR JI.

This is indeed a Proud Moment in the History of Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute.The Only Deemed to be University in the City of Chennai offering Multi Facet Programmes /Courses to be granted this status under Category-II.
