Institutional preparedness for NEP
1. Multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary: Dr.M.G.R.Educational and Research Institute is in
line with the National Education Policy’s by
providing high-quality education to develop human
resources in our nation as global citizens, and the
policies are well followed and implemented by our
university. Various key principles of NEP such as
diversity for all curriculum and pedagogy with
technological innovations in teaching and learning,
critical thinking, encouraging logical decision
making, innovation and creativity were discussed
among the faculty members and were initiated. Our
university has always strived for a multidisciplinary
approach in its academic as well as co-curricular
activities. Based on NEP, many new interdisciplinary
centers were initiated integrating various departments
in addition to the existing inter/multidisciplinary
research and academics. Many new multidisciplinary
and interdisciplinary courses are introduced as
electives by redesigning the academic programs. All
academic programs are designed to give maximum
flexibility to students to select elective courses
offered by other Departments. Our university is
proactively working on the implementation of the
suggestions given in the NEP.
2. Academic bank of credits (ABC): Online courses through National schemes like
SWAYAM, NPTEL, etc, have already been
implemented for our students and are considered for
credits earned against elective courses. Curriculum
revision was already initiated and implemented based
on NEP. Our university is completely in the process
of developing and implementing a system for the
execution of the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) in
