Speakers at the BSX-2022

         Conference

Vinod Kumar, Promotion Directorate , IN-Space

If you see in the space sector, India has a huge potential. I was going through the sustainable
development. Our chairman has already mentioned in his talk that it relates to poverty,
alleviation, water resources finding etc., as it’s 17 such goals. So, these goals are Interdependent
that is outcome of one will certainly culminate and will have a fight on the other. So seeing this I
see that India has a huge potential for the investment in the space. I was reading one report that
more than 24%, one fourth of the talent in India wants to work in the space sector. So where is
the place? It is the private industry which has come in a huge way.

So, to bridge this gap, what we are having already IIST Indian Institute of Space Science and
Technology that is producing the space experts. In addition to this, IN-SPACe has joined hands
with IIT Madras, IIT Bombay also and some professors from foreign and industrial expert to
         divide a speech technology minor.

This we are planning to introduce in January 2023 the course producer ID. There will be one
introductory course on space technology. It will be followed by four courses on all four
dimensions or verticals of the space. These are launch vehicles, propulsion system, space flight
mechanics and attitude dynamics. And you will see a course on satellite system engineering and
last but not the least, data, product and services. That is the area where we see a lot of potential
for it touching the lives of people.
