Space Terms to know about







         Asterism:

         A pattern of stars recognizable to

         observers from Earth. Asterisms

         may or may not be part of a
         constellation.







                                                                         Astronomical Twilight:

                                                              Astronomical twilight is the darkest

                                                                  of the 3 twilight phases. It is the
                                                                       earliest stage of dawn in the

                                                              morning and the last stage of dusk

                                                                                           in the evening.





         Chromosphere:

         The lower region of the Sun's

         atmosphere is called the

         chromosphere. Its name comes
         from the Greek root chroma

         (meaning color), for it appears
         bright red when viewed during a

         solar eclipse.





                                                                                         Conjunction:


                                                              A conjunction occurs when any two
                                                                     astronomical objects (such as

                                                           asteroids, moons, planets, and stars)
                                                         appear to be close together in the sky,

                                                                             as observed from Earth.
