69th Independence Day was very special for the Faculty of Hotel Management & Catering Technology of Dr.MGR Educational & Research Institute University. It became special with the rare & distinct opportunity for the department officials and students to serve Hon’ble Governor of Tamil Nadu, Sri K. Rosaiah, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tami Nadu Dr. J Jayalalitha, other Ministers and Central and State Government officias and other elite members in the city, on the 15th of August, 2015 at the Raj Bhavan premises.
Hotel Benzz Park, Chennai, was awarded the honour of serving the dignitaries and 50 students of the department and 5 staff members were selected to take care of the prestigious Independence Day banquet responsibilities. The students of the department could experience the intricacies of such a prestigious banquet responsibilities and the deliberations. They turned out as a great opportunity for learning for the students.
