World Diabetic Day is celebrated every year on the 19th November, with a view to spread better awareness, so that the disease is prevented to help manage those who are afflicted by diabetes.
The Faculty of Hotel Management & Catering Technology of Dr. MGR University Educational & Research Institute University lent their time to assemble at the event location to create awareness to the visiting public on the 19th November, 2012. Putting up a stall at the University Campus on the day, the students of HMCT of Dr. MGR Educational & Research Institute University focused on explaining to the visitors about the nutritious & protein rich food items recommended for diabetic patients. Apart from information the food ingredients were displayed at the stall for viewing and understanding by the visitors.
The visitors continued to pour into the stall the whole day and it was a good opportunity to meet several people. The event could create awareness about the disease to the people who visited the stall about the healthy types of food items and the consumption levels recommended to maintain health.
