2.3.3 Teachers use ICT-enabled tools for effective teaching and learning process, including online e-
resources

Response:

Dr.M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, being a multifaceted University with 14 faculties starting
from Medicine, Dental, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Pharmacy, Allied health science, Engineering,
Architecture, Business Administration, Computer Applications, Hotel Management, Arts and Science and
Education, Supports intensive use of ICT enabled tools including online resources for effective teaching
and learning process.

A dedicated e-Learning Centre is established at Main campus where ICT resources are used by all
faculties. The e-Learning Centre was started to meet up the learning demands of students from various
disciplines and helps the teachers in developing e-content in different subjects. EDUSAT based live
transmission of lectures continue to be one of the core operations and more than 3000 live hours have been
conducted till date with 300 subject experts across the affiliated colleges. Special lectures and technical
talks are also arranged by inviting experts from industry. The e-Learning centre periodically conduct
workshop for research scholars enrolled under MGRERI for the doctoral work.

Specialized computer laboratory with an internet connection has been provided in all faculties to promote
independent learning. Wi-Fi facility for access of internet is provided on individual laptop and mobile
devices.
