Experiential learning
Faculties spent 12510 teaching hours through demonstration and visual aids, 1030 hours Periodical PHC
visits,518 hours organizing camps,7037 hours Presenting papers, 7174 hours analysing case studies and
5912 hours value added courses. Power point lectures are made interesting besides oral presentation. The
log books disclose the level achieved in learning process. Hospital attached faculties give students
evidence based learning.
Integrated / interdisciplinary learning
7174 hours, weekly interdisciplinary meet and 11159 hours of case discussions are conducted by
departments. The 10998 hours of seminars with paper presentation by students on contemporary topics
enrich learning. Medical syllabus covers vertical and horizontal integrated teaching. Periodic centralized
clinical meetings and Mortality audit, 6350 hours for Think-Pair-Share and Group discussions, 9098 hours
for Clinical meetings, Ward rounds, Seminars,Quizzes, Micro-teaching, 488 hours for Role plays,Case
discussions, 3176 hours for Community out-reach activities
Participatory learning
Group learning for slow learners develop problem solving, interpersonal, presentational and
communication skills confirming quality in learning with Peer Group. Group learning is done in different
calibre learners by their mentors in department. All departments organize odd semester symposiums and
even semester conferences. This academic function makes students to be efficient leaders in future. Group
activities as interactive learning module (ILM) were designed for students for obtaining their internals.
Students participate in groups for 3566 hours cultural and sports extracurricular activities at inter and intra
institutional levels. They are involved in 3176 hours for NSS, tree planting, perform ISR activities .
Problem solving methodologies
Students gain skills in critical thinking, communication, and group dynamics through 11667 hoursof
participatory and discussion based way of learning.
This conventional method is commonly adopted by all the teachers. This method facilitates teachers to
interpret, explain and revise content of text only for better understanding of subject by students. 8200 hours
of rare diseases are discussed with students to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Self –Directed learning
Procedural skills: Under directly observed procedural skill (DOPS), SDL in form of literature search from
e-resources, CD and DVDs, are made available. The institution campus is Wi-Fi enabled to support
education and research. Faculty members are well acquainted with use of 10998 hours of ICT during class
room teaching and lectures are given through power point presentation. E-contents are accessible in
Dr.M.G.R Digi-Learning Application.
Patient centric and evidence based learning:
Community visits help educated on gender equity, human rights, and health awareness. Rotational shifts
between various speciality clinics give students a better exposure with rare cases, its documentation,
