on 5th September in the college with great enthusiasm and pride because, Teachers' Day is celebrated to
honor the memory of India's first Vice President and to commemorate the importance of teachers in our
lives.
Republic day is celebrated every year on 26th January in our institution. It is a day to remember when
India's constitution came into force on 26 January 1950 completing the country's transition toward
becoming an independent republic. A function is organized in the our campus where all staff members and
students share their thoughts about importance of this day in history of our nation and pay tribute to all
freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives in order to gain the freedom for the India.
Independence Day is also celebrated on 15th August in our Campus.It is celebrated on 15th August
commemorating the nation independence from United Kingdom on 15th August 1947. It is a day when all
staff members and students pay homage to their leaders and those who fought for India's freedom in the
past.
Youth Association for Cultural Excellence (YACE), the Extended Wing of the Department of English in
the I year Campus at Adayalampattu, is run for the students of all campuses under Dr.MGR Educational
and Research Institute upholding the principle, ‘Youth, the Promise of Future’. In view of its conviction
that the youth power has to be channelised for sustained growth of the society and the nation, YACE
organizes cultural and literary fete every year for the students. The teachers motivate and guide the
students to participate in them for their all-round growth. The engineering students of Dr.M.G.R.
Educational and Research Institute University and the students of its associated institutes such as, medical,
nursing, dental and catering institutes are the beneficiaries of the program.
