processes created by the FAculty or students under the academic system. Commercialization of IP and
establishment of campus companies are promoted by the University.

The Institute has the commitment to dedicate 2 % of its annual revenue towards Research and
Development. The Institute has developed two Centers : Advanced Research Institute and Dr APJ Abdul
Kalam Center of Excellence in Innovation and Entrepreneurship with dedicated faculty. The Institute has a
collaboration with Virginia Tech University, USA to develop a research center within the Campus at
Adayalampattu Chennai.

The utilization of the budget is managed by the Sponsored Research and Consultancy Department of the
Finance Office. A separate bank account is opened for each of the funded projects and managed
independently by the Principal Investigator. All the accounts are maintained and audited annually.
