4.1 Physical Facilities
4.1.1 The institution has adequate physical facilities for teaching – learning, skills acquisition etc
Response:
The constituent medical, dental and paramedical colleges have the higher end classrooms, demonstration
rooms, bed side teaching rooms that are furnished well and ventilated with all required facilities. We have
urban and rural peripheral centres. Each centre caters to large population . There is a separate Medical
education centre that trains the staff to treat according to the curriculum based medical education by
conducting workshop and basic course regularly. The institution has been upgraded as a PG institution and
has been running effectively.
The Department of health has networked with Govt. bodies, NGO's - Rotary Organizations, Jana Shikshana
Sansthan, Youth for Seva, Kannada Sangha, Nearby Housing Societies, etc for out-reach activities
Alliances with Department of Health & Family Welfare, Karnataka, Department of Factories & Boilers,
Govt. of Karnataka, which has enriched the Department in Academics. Hospital based activities of the
Department include, Allergy Clinic, Disease Surveillance Unit, Co-ordination with Revised National
TB Control Programme, Co-ordination for Specialist Health Camps, Covid 19 Vaccination Programme,
etc. The institution is pearled with PG (MD and MS) with super speciality discipline. All this tie-ups give
the UG and PG health department students to have an enriched community based learning.
Department of Integrative Dentistry, AYUSH center, provides students and staffs to apply and research
various complementary and alternative medicines like Ayurvedha, Yoga, Unani, Siddha, Homeopathy with
conventional dental treatment.There is well developed surgical suits for OT complex for the surgeons and
students. Campus offers a complete suite of facilities for all types of students. The main campus of DR.
M.G.R Educational & Research Institute is located at Chennai, Tamilnadu which inspires and motivates
students with their life opportunities. It has been approved by ISO, NABL, NABH respectively. The
University is equipped with facilities available for training undergraduate and postgraduate students. All
classrooms, demonstration rooms, seminar halls. bed side teaching rooms are well-furnished and ventilated
with all required facilities. Facilities like LAN, LCD, OHP projectors, Interactive Boards, Smart
Classrooms and sound system are used regularly. The ICT enabled classrooms and learning spaces are
available in individual constituent colleges with additional portable facilities to enhance mobility, multiple
interaction modes and collaboration. They are optimally utilized not only for routine teaching- learning
activities but also for conducting webinars & video conferencing. These physical learning spaces are
expanded with wireless connection to access online resources.
The university also considers the essentiality of complementary and alternative medicines of our current
Indian tradition and imparts to bring an integrative treatment approach in the medical, dental and
paramedical campuses. The management provided required facilities for the practice of AYUSH
(Ayurvedha, Yoga, Unani, Sidhha and Homeopathy) combined with conventional allopathy medicine.
Projects and research are encouraged among students and faculties.
The medical, dental and paramedical colleges of the university have physical infrastructure adequate to
educate and train the under graduate and post graduates. To the OP strength is sufficient to teach and train
the graduates skillfully. The university also has MOU and Tie-ups with Government and non-
