governmental organization Villages based Household Survey for provision of cashless Health Services at
Hospital & Household surveys are conducted by the Para - Medical workers of the department. Non-
Communicable Disease Survey at Urban Slums, School Health Surveys. Anganwadi Health - Check-up,
etc. There are various facilities available like laser assisted procedures, implant surgery, piezo surgery and
regenerative procedures. The department is complemented with Radiovisiogram - as necessitated to
minimize the radiation exposure to both the patients and clinicians. Each and every equipment in the lab is
maintained and is provided with a computer for the use of faculty. In the smart classrooms, learning is
made with the adoption of new high-end digital technology, learning devices, special software products
and visual and audio systems. All equipments are always checked for wear and tear and replaced with new
or repaired ones. Health rooms are provided. Services like Emergency Services, Out /in-patient Services,
Clinical, Lab, Diagnostic, Transfusions, Pharmacy, Professions Allied to Medicine, Support Services, etc.,
are provided. Department of Community Medicine includes functioning of Rural & Urban Health Training
Centres, inclusive of Preventive, Promotive & Curative Services, besides conducting various Specialist
Health Camps. Villages based Household Surveys are conducted. The Department has networked with
Govt. bodies and NGO's. Activities of the Department include, Allergy Clinic, Disease Surveillance Unit,
Co-ordination with Revised National TB Control Programme, Co-ordination for Specialist Health Camps,
Covid 19 Vaccination Programme, etc. The department has also been conducting awareness program on
specific days such as World Cancer Day, Blood donation day etc. They also are involved in research
activities like ICMR and RGUHS research grants.

The Medical Colleges have Animal Houses as per CPCSEA guidelines. There is a clinical lab, RTPCR
LAB, Dialysis wing to benefit the public. There are various well-equipped wards along with High-end
ICU. The community department has urban and rural areas and a satellite Centre tie up with the PHC.

Dr. M. G. R. Educational and Research Institute have large conference halls/auditoriums and seminar halls
and a huge central auditorium utilized for various activities. In order to encourage, research environment,
the university has set up various facilities like the Advanced Research Institute, APJ Abdul Kalam Center
for Innovative Research, Advanced Medical Research Laboratory etc as central facilities. The university
has increased funding for modern research infrastructure. Apart from the scheme like DDU-GKY, funded
by the Ministry of Rural Development a separate wing is dedicated with all required facilities as per SOP.
Not only that, inter-disciplinary R&D projects are encouraged. Rural health centers and MSME incubation
center are fully functional. The university also has a centralized cloud for data storage and high-speed
internet 24x7 and also are equipped with latest software.
