6.3.5 Institution has Performance Appraisal System for teaching and non-teaching staff
Response:
The Assessment of the performance of University teachers for CAS promotion is based on the
following criteria:
1.Teaching-Learning and Evaluation: Commitment to teaching based on observable indicators
such as regularity to class, punctuality, remedial teaching and clarification of doubts both in
and out of class hours, counseling and mentoring, additional teaching to support the
college/university as and when the need arises, and so on. Examination and Exam supervision
duties, question paper setting for university examinations, participation in the evaluation of
examination answer scripts, conducting internal assessment examinations as per the schedule
announced by the institution at the beginning of each Academic Session, and returning and
discussing the answers in the classroom are all examples of examination and evaluation
activities.
2.Personal Development Related to Teaching and Research Activities: Attending
orientation/refresher/methodology courses, developing e-contents and MOOCs, arranging
seminars/conferences/workshops/paper presentations and session chairing/guiding and
carrying out research projects and publishing the research output in national and
international publications etc.
3.Administrative Support and Participation in Students’ Co- and Extra-curricular Activities
