M.Tech In Medical Bio
Technology
Preamble:
Medical Biotechnology is the application of biotechnology in
medical field either for diagnostics of a disease precisely at
molecular level or development of newer therapeutics.
M.Tech
with specialization in Medical Biotechnology has been offered in
our university from the year 2011. This is a 2-year course
offered only in Full-time. Our University has the privilege of
being the first deemed university in India to start M.Tech in
Medical Biotechnology.
Areas of Medical Biotechnology includes genomics, proteomics,
pharmacogenomics, immunomics, immunotechnology, stem cell
technology, genetic engineering, animal tissue culture,
biomaterials, tissue engineering, cell signalling, molecular
modelling, drug designing, etc. This course focuses on diverse
areas pertain to the diagnosis of a disease using different
molecular approaches and enrich the practical knowledge of the
students in research for development of drug targets and newer
therapeutics for diseases.
Objectives
of the course:

To
enlighten the knowledge of the students on different
areas of Medical Biotechnology
-
To
train the students in a hospital based setup and make
them familiarize with the clinical diagnostics of
diseases.

To give
practical training to the students and train them in
Molecular Diagnostics of diseases as well as conducting
research for development of newer therapeutics.
-
To
prepare the students in applying their knowledge and
make them employable in Research Institutes, super
specialty hospitals, R&D labs, drug companies, etc.
Eligibility:
B.Tech in Biotechnology/ Industrial Biotechnology/
Bioinformatics, M.Sc in Biotechnology/Biochemistry/Microbiology
or any Biological Sciences, B.Pharm.
