Introduction
The Faculty of Law offers Undergraduate programmes in law as per the guidelines of the Bar Council of India and the University Grants Commission. The university has devised a pragmatic curriculum which is beneficial for the students to take up practice after the completion of the degree. Bar Council of India Ref No :D:272/2019/(LEF/std.26-04-2019 dated 15-05-2019).
The programmes offered at the Faculty of Law comprises of internships, case review, moot court, drafting & conveyancing and writing orders. In order to promote interaction between students and legal professionals, seminars, guest lectures and workshops are conducted on various subjects of law at regular intervals. In addition to the mandatory courses the program also comprises of value-added courses for the benefit of students.

Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute has been established in the honour and memory of our beloved leader Makkal Thilakam Hon'ble Late Dr. M.G.Ramachandran, whose outstanding and invaluable services to the people of Tamil Nadu continue be fresh, esteemed and cherished.
Dr. MGR Educational and Research Institute, has been founded by our beloved Chairman Hon'ble A. C. Shanmugam, with the Vision of creating a holistic environment of academic excellence through the process of knowledge creation, knowledge delivery and knowledge application. Director
The Faculty of Law is privileged to have Prof. Dr. N. Murugavel as its Director. Prof. Murugavel is a distinguished alumnus of Madras University in Chennai. He has been a Graduate and Post Graduate student and then a research scholar, all the Madras University. Prof. Murugavel has rendered a range of legal professional services in various Courts in Chennai, including the High Court. Also, Prof. Murugavel has rendered legal educational and administrative services in various government law colleges in Coimbatore, Madurai, Chengalpattu, and Chennai. Prof. Murugavel was appointed as the first Vice Chancellor of The Tamil Nadu National law University in Trichy in 2013, by Puratchi Thalaivi Dr. Hon'ble J. Jayalalitha. Transparency, honesty, and sincerity are the hallmarks of Prof. Murugavel's academic and administrative services.
