The Department of Information Technology was started in the year 2001 and offers B.Tech, and PhD programs. In this era of digital world, the IT department offers an excellent atmosphere for students to learn and acquire the necessary skills as demanded by the industry.

The department is enriched with experienced faculty members, well equipped laboratories, department library and R&D facilities. Students and faculty members are a part of professional societies like IEEE, IETE, CSI, CISCO etc., in order to gain contemporary knowledge about the happenings in the industry. The Department has established strong links with industrial and academic experts, both within and outside the country. Besides high quality teaching, various webinars, FDPs, conferences, symposiums and workshops are organized frequently both in the national and international level.

Our department faculty members have a remarkable number of publications. Our enthusiastic students take up several real time projects each year. Also, the aspiring students are given international opportunities through student exchange programs, internships and summer training programs. Students those who graduated in our department are placed as system developers, architects, technical leaders and managers in many multi-national companies. Above all, the department of Information Technology strives for continuous improvement and setting a good example in the effective use of technology.

The department has formed this Journal Club inspired by the founder and CEO of Zoho Corporation Mr. Sridhar Vembu.
