Mechanical Engineering Department is in existence since 1988, right from the inception of Dr. M.G.R. Engineering College, promoted by Tmt. Kannammal Educational Trust.
  • Our department made a humble beginning in 1988 with a Bachelor's Programme with an in-take of 60 students.
  • The Department offers Undergraduate Programme and Post graduate Programme.

  • The Department started M.Tech Programme in Industrial Engineering and Design Engineering from the year 2002.

  • The department was accredited by NBA with B 3 grade in the year 2002.

  • Our team has been shortlisted for SUPRA SAE, formula race to be held in July 2011. The Race Car is designed and built by our Students.
