INTRODUCTION

Business acumen, essential skill sets and confidence is what we are looking at instilling in students enrolling in the Department of Management Studies.

Department of Management Studies started in 1993 -affiliated to University of Madras , later to Anna University.
2003, college was awarded Deemed University status
Date of establishment of Faculty of Management Studies in the University 13.01.2003.

We offering 14 electives are in Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Information Systems, Human Resource Management, Tourism Management, Hospital and Healthcare Management, Operations Management, Sports Management, Entrepreneurship Management, Media and Entertainment Management, Agriculture Management, Education Management, International Business Management.

The value added courses with skill based training having tie up with NSDC, TCS and BOSCH,KVIC,
In addition to this Students Exchange Programmes with various Foreign Universities.

AWARDS & ACHIEVEMENTS

In order to encourage the students to get ample exposure in various types of management functions, such as event management, paper presentation, etc, they are being sent to various colleges to participate and gain relevant experience. Our students won some excellent awards and honour in several management events conducted by other colleges and universities.

Each semester, some of our students used to win prizes/awards, including first prize, for talent and knowledge from several colleges.

Since the inception of the department its motive has always been to instil quality and capacity in them to think, plan and formulate to create a better environment for the common man to lead a quality life. The Department also aims at moulding the students in a better way so as to face the present challenges in the industry

To full-fill the above, the department started an Association for Management Studies called - "GEOCENTRIC" to execute all the events conducted for the students. Curriculum related activities form part and parcel of the department. Students are visiting industries in and around Chennai on a regular basis and get exposure in practical aspects of management.
