In 2010, India saw over 50 lakh foreign tourists and 40 crore domestic tourists. The tourism industry employs over two crore people in India.

The increasing number of tourists has resulted in an expansion in the hospitality sector. With an upcoming large number of leading international hotel brands, there has been a tremendous increase in demand for hospitality professionals in all areas. Some of the big brands entering India are Hyatt, Hilton, Marriot, Kempinski and Accor.

There are now 40 international brands operating in India and new players are still joining. Each brand in turn is building chain operations across India. The biggest boom has been in the Quick Service Restaurant segment like MacDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut and Domino’s to name a few. Specialty restaurants have also seen a growth as the demand for specialty food like Italian, Mexican and Thai cuisine is increasing.

There is a direct correlation between the booming tourism and hospitality industry and demand for good talented people. This is a service-based industry, which wants young and energetic individuals, with creativity, passion, ambition and knowledge. In the future, students would be seeing a phenomenal growth. Now being part of this industry has become a global career choice for many. The pay scale offered by the industry is at par with the IT and engineering sector.

The course includes 5 months of industrial training which is organized by the institution in a reputed 5 star hotel, during which the student will be introduced to the various departments of the hotel by means of "On the Job Training”.
