Introduction Electronics or Bachelor of Science in Electronics is an undergraduate 3 years Program. Electronics is the branch of science, engineering and technology that deals with electrical circuits involving active electrical components such as transistors, diodes and integrated circuits. This course incites the candidates for going to post graduate program in wide range of subjects. They can have their own startups such as manufacturing and designing of PCB for electronic, goods and components. They can also start an assembling or Debugging unit for all consumer electronic devices like television receivers, amplifiers, recording equipment, etc.

There are two main objectives to the B. Sc Electronics Programme.
  • To produce electronic professionals who can be directly employed or start his/her own work as Electronic circuit Designer, Electronics consultant, Testing professional, Service engineer and an Entrepreneur in electronic industry.
  • To train students to a level where they can readily compete for seats of advanced degree courses like M.Sc. (Electronics) and MBA etc.
On completion of the B. Sc Electronics Programme, the student will:
  • Have basic communicative skill in the English language
  • Have environmental and civic awareness
  • Have sound knowledge of the theory behind core subjects like, Electronic components, Electronic measuring and testing instruments, Analog and Digital IC’s, Electronic circuit design and implementation, Troubleshooting and maintenance of electronic and electrical devices.
  • Have sound skills in assembly Language and High Level Language programming, interfacing of electronic devices with computers, etc
  • Be in a position to develop industrial and entrepreneur applications.
  • Have an opportunity to learn foreign languages


Candidate should have passed the higher secondary / Technical higher secondary / Vocational Higher secondary examinations of Govt. of Tamil Nadu or CBSE or any other examinations with Mathematics or Computer Science or Computer Applications as one of the optional subjects.

Duration of the Programme
It shall be six semesters with conduction of University examinations.

This lab will provide knowledge about electronic components and its basic applications. The students will learn to amplify the analog signals & increase the gain. The students will be accustomed with the concept of processing all natural information as electronic signals.

This lab will be an introduction to the world of basic electronic components and helps them to get familiarized with the concepts of current & voltage. The students will be able to infer the characteristics of electronic devices like SCR & UJT as a final outcome. The students will be able to showcase their understanding by making a mini project.

The infrastructure and the components available in this lab gives a great exposure to students in the knowledge of Intel 8085 processors, 8086 processors, 8051 microcontrollers. On completion of this lab study, students acquire knowledge in applications and programming also using the above mentioned processors.

This lab provides an opportunity for the students to analyze the analog and digital signals using DSP processor. The students will learn the basics of signal transmission and reception and the measurement of the parameters involved.

This lab helps the students to understand the latest technology involved in applications like DTH (Direct to Home) and Satellite Communication. The students will be familiarized with encoding and decoding of Digital information. As an outcome the students will be expertise in the concept of digital transmission.

This lab will be an exposure to digitalization. The student will understand how to store & process single & multiple digital data by using time delays & counters.
