Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education Government of India have certified Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Chennai as a Recognized Social Entrepreneurship, Swachhta & Rural Engagement Cell (SES REC) Institution. The institution has framed the SES REC action plan for improving facilities in the campus and the community and adopted villages for sanitation and hygiene, waste management, water management, energy conservation and greenery post covid-19. Awareness on social entrepreneurship provided for students and mentored by the faculty members. The practice of mentoring social responsibility, swachhta and care for environment and resources has been conquered.
