Barcoding and Metabarcoding approaches for the rapid identification of biological species

India is a home for almost 0.581 million species (7% of global diversity) and there is ongoing research documenting this diversity. Canada is a pioneer in the field of barcoding and a global leader in this field. The SICI GJ lecture series will introduce the audience to the objectives of documenting biodiversity and the current methods in use and in development. The lecture series targeting researchers and students from SICI member and non-member Institutes to strengthen Indo-Canadian research collaborations.
The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute is a binational organization that promotes understanding between India and Canada through academic activities and exchanges. The Shastri Institute is funded by and partners closely with government bodies in both India and Canada.
