Introduction

The discipline of Psychology and behavioral sciences acts a vital cog for effective functioning of professional in all other discipline as it keeps the finer sensibilities and self, personal and social responsibilities alive in them, paving the way for a composite, sustainable and desirable development which venerates the environment as well as human sensitivity and promoting excellence in their subjective disciplines.
Department of psychology, was established in the year 2018 to offer an undergraduate course in B.Sc Psychology with a vision to be a leader in the cutting edge of professional skill development, teaching psychology, research and to become a recognized and eminent education centre for various disciplines of Psychology and related fields.
Since the humble beginning the department has been successful in providing worthy exposure to its students, not only in the regular curriculum but also to the aspirations of current social, Medical and corporate world, by instilling a professional attitude and skills in them. The department of psychology continuously strives to give its students a chance to understand and investigate their own self and their areas of interest.
Our department is blessed highly motivated, highly skilled and passionate team of teachers as members of faculty. The department has excellent infrastructural support for carrying out quality research as it is equipped Psychology Laboratory, a well-stocked Physical and E-Library.
By imparting skill-based courses in the discipline of Psychology, the department endeavors to form well-rounded individuals. It targets both the timely and timeless needs of the students as it fills them with the much-needed job-ready skills and values that make them professional experts and desirable as individuals. The communication, conversation skill development activities, the aptitude trainings, the sessions on self-development, the expert talks, the outbound training programs, the active participation in social outreach programs etc are all in alignment with university’s vision of awakening this generation to take up the challenges of tomorrow.
As an indicator of consistent growth, the Department is planning to grow and have initiated post-graduation program with specialization MSc Clinical psychology in the current academic year 2021-22 creating experts professionals who can function a Independent professional

  • Train students with in-depth knowledge about current theories of psychopathology covering both dimensional and diagnostic approaches for conceptualizing, defining, observing and assessing behavioural and mental indicators of psychopathology.
  • Strengthen the research competence and academic profile of those intending to apply for professional training in clinical psychology.
  • Provide broad postgraduate research training in quantitative and qualitative research methods relevant to clinical psychology and mental health in general.
  • Endow students with thorough knowledge about different kinds of effective psychological interventions for the treatment or prevention of mental health and behavioural problems.
  • Impart Knowledge about professional standards for clinical psychologists as well as training in professional skills.
